Businesses operating out of offices to rent in Cardiff may want to consider encouraging diversity in the workplace.
Maggie Berry, managing director of Women in Technology, explained that the benefits of hiring senior females should be recognised at all levels of a company.
She said: "The chief executive officer may be really bought into the idea but this attitude needs to filter down to middle management too."
It was suggested that increased awareness of gender diversity can help improve the employability of women in IT roles.
However, Ms Berry noted that many females do not want to be taken on merely to fill a quota target, but instead based on their merit.
Despite this, the expert claimed that the introduction of goals would be "a positive move" and give companies "an aim".
Recent research by InterExec revealed that 70 per cent of those questioned do not feel proposals to increase women in the boardroom are workable.
