Companies working out of offices to rent in Cardiff that utilise cloud computing may wish to analyse who is accessing their data.
This is following the advice of Alex Teh, commercial director of security solutions provider Vigil Software, who noted that it is very important to audit what happens inside the cloud.
While it can allow smaller organisations to use programs that their infrastructure would usually be unable to cope with, "the tricky part is making sure there is security around who is accessing those applications", he declared.
Mr Teh explained that it is the job of distributors and reseller channels to assist companies in logging this information and ensuring that users of the cloud service "are who they say they are".
A recent poll from Dell discovered this is one of the main reasons why use of these solutions has been limited, with 57 per cent of IT professionals claiming data security blocks their take-up of cloud processing.
