Serviced offices in Northampton look to be rising in popularity, new research from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) has indicated.
Stephen Smith, of Northampton surveyors King West Blacklee Smith, said in the body's latest UK Commercial Market Survey that "there has been a small increase in occupier enquiries for industrial and office space during the first quarter of 2011".
He added that capital values and rents have not changed, but he has noticed a shortage of space in some areas.
People looking for offices to rent in Edinburgh should also note the city's commercial property market has seen a similar slight increase.
Angela Lowe of real estate company Cushman and Wakefield told Rics the Edinburgh office market appears to be in recovery, but continues to be primarily favourable to tenants.
Overall, the survey indicates UK-wide recovery will be slow and there may be problems in the second quarter of 2011. This is due to continuing economic uncertainty and increasing available space. Investment in London has been the strongest, with office space in central London climbing from a net balance of 17 per cent to 39 per cent.
Nationally, ten per cent more surveyors saw a rise in demand than a fall.
