Companies seeking office space to rent in Cardiff may wish to examine social media outlets before they begin establishing a presence on these platforms.
Mike Seddon, founder of web promoter KKSmarts.com, said Facebook used to be good for targeting young people and was therefore utilised by "the Pepsis, the Coca Colas, new films, that sort of thing".
Now, it has expanded beyond that demographic to a considerably more diverse community, but still has the "feeling that it's a younger, hipper crowd" who use it, he continued.
The expert claimed LinkedIn is more professional and is most effective for firms seeking business people, whereas Twitter is not particularly good for brand promotion.
He stated he explains to his clients that this website ought to be used for paying attention to marketplace trends but is not the place for a corporation to "win any business".
All the websites referred to as social media "attract different types of people", Mr Seddon claimed.
Facebook is generally a better tool for retailers hoping to establish an online presence than Twitter, director of the Centre for Retail Research Professor Joshua Bamfield recently noted.
