Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in serviced offices in Edinburgh may benefit from innovative lending being provided by financial institutions.
Peter Ewen, managing director of Venture Finance, said small firms are currently facing "unprecedented challenges" as they try to grow - and in order for this to happen it is important that lenders play their part.
"The central issue is ensuring businesses have access to reliable and responsive finance, which means confidence in financial institutions must be restored," he stated.
Mr Ewen was commenting after a whitepaper entitled Financing Britain's Growth was released, which combines the views of several bodies including the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and various SMEs.
The document outlined several challenges small companies are facing, including an unwillingness to take on more debt and a reluctance to invest in their business.
Last week, a study by R3 found 44 per cent of companies believe banks were broadly supportive in the three months to September, suggesting SMEs in serviced offices may now be finding credit easier to come by.
