Companies in serviced offices in Cardiff may decide to start implementing green policies into the workplace in order to reduce their overheads and protect the bottom line.
Chairman of the Cumbria Green Business Forum John Barwise said businesses are starting to move away from their belief that taking environmental issues into account is an inconvenience.
He said that reports on greenhouse gas emissions show those firms that have less of an impact on their surroundings can improve their performance.
"The difficulty for some business managers is convincing the firm's accountants and the boardroom that investment in environmental technology is an investment in the future success of the business," Mr Barwise added.
Earlier this week, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills revealed a report by the Innovation and Growth Team that highlighted four areas the government needs to focus on to meet the carbon challenge, including opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises.
