Prime minister David Cameron has commissioned a report that could benefit serviced offices in Northampton.
Lord Young has been appointed by the coalition to assess the availability of finance to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and measure the bureaucratic restraints that are being placed on firms.
Mr Cameron said his government wants to help SMEs in order to promote growth as they account for half the country's gross domestic product and almost three-fifths of jobs.
"There is so much more that we need to do to back up our commitment to make this country one of the best in the world to start, run and grow a small business," he stated.
He added that Lord Young would bring vast experience to his role, as well as a enthusiasm for enterprise and would be using his knowledge to identify areas the coalition can help SMEs, such as those in offices to rent.
Last week, a speech made by Mr Cameron to the Confederation of British Industries was praised by Richard Lambert, director-general of the body, who observed that the prime minister had demonstrated a passion for business.
