Companies operating out of offices to rent in Cardiff may want to be aware of insider security following one expert's warnings.
Rob Rachwald, director of security strategy at Imperva, explained how even low level employees can be a threat to organisations as recent examples in the media have shown.
Talking at the Infosecurity Europe event designed to provide professionals with information on the latest IT security solutions, he described how the Wikileaks scandal was due to data being revealed by someone who did not hold a high-up position in the military.
It was suggested that firms should be aware of insider trading and ensure they have the technology to combat it.
"I think better censors and better controls have to be put in place that makes it much harder to get to, take and leave with the data," Mr Rachwald stated.
He added that no amount of IT training can guarantee staff will be deterred from selling a company's private information.
