Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), such as those occupying serviced offices in Cardiff, are in need of more financial help as the economy comes out of recession, it has been claimed.
Phil McCabe, a spokesman for the Forum of Private Business (FPB), said that companies require greater access to money now, compared to during the economic downturn, in order to take on additional staff and invest in the business.
He stated this is because SMEs need to make the most of the new opportunities that are being offered to them as the financial state of the UK shows shoots of a revival.
However, due to the severe restrictions in credit lending from banks, firms are being denied access to funds, which is a pressing and present concern.
"Even though the economy is no longer in recession, we are still not out of the woods yet," Mr McCabe added.
A report released by R3 last week found almost half of businesses are experiencing a decrease in their profits, while a third have recorded a recent fall in their market share.
