Businesses, including those using serviced offices in Cardiff, may decide to stop conducting exit interviews when a member of staff leaves the company, following comments from one expert.
Jarrod Parker, head of consultants and actuaries at employee and trustee adviser Alexander Forbes, said the meetings that take place upon a worker's departure do not serve much of a purpose.
Many firms will conduct exit interviews in an attempt to understand why someone wants to part ways with the company, he noted.
Mr Parker stated that by carrying out this procedure, businesses - including those in offices to rent - are "asking the wrong people, because those people that are leaving are the ones who at least have an axe to grind".
According to a report from PwC, the UK's failure to retain talent in the workplace to the same level as other mature economies is resulting in British businesses losing out on approximately £42 billion every year.
