Bosses looking to motivate staff at serviced offices in Edinburgh may want to follow one expert's advice and train managers.
Dilys Robinson, principal research fellow at the Institute for Employment Studies, described how "engaging" line leaders are the best way to maintain morale.
She explained that these are the individuals workers come face-to-face with daily and, as such, the relationship between the two needs to be positive.
"It is often the line manager who is predominantly responsible for the mood of the team and an effective, encouraging, engaging manager can motivate the team ... even when times are difficult," Ms Robinson stated.
It was suggested that offering people in this role proper support and training can help to ensure positive results are achieved.
This advice may be particularly important as a recent report by Capita HR Solutions revealed that one in four (28 per cent) workers are actively seeking alternative jobs.
