Businesses operating out of serviced offices in Northampton may be interested in one expert's advice on how to be greener.
Michael Shanks, chief technology officer of Ultraspeed, explained a number of ways in which companies can make their workspace more environmentally-friendly.
It was suggested that employers promote recycling by introducing specific bins for food waste or paper and urging staff to use them.
In addition, organisations could help by "discouraging staff, clients and suppliers from practices that are not green, such as printing out emails and sending paper invoices".
Another area where significant energy saving gains could be made is technology, Mr Shanks noted.
He recommended turning off all power sources that do not need to be left running overnight or throughout certain times of the day.
Mike Childs, head of climate change at Friends of the Earth, recently commented that the government should be doing more to encourage businesses to invest in renewable energy.
