People in serviced offices in Northampton may want to think twice about changing careers following one expert's advice.
Zain Wadee, director of recruitment company hyphen, warned workers not to rush into a decision about their employment during the Christmas period.
He recommended considering whether the change of heart was for "the right reasons" and not just a "gut reaction to the post-Christmas blues or a feeling that the new year should herald change for the sake of change".
It was suggested that many employees begin thinking about moving jobs in January as it can seem like a good time to make a fresh start.
Mr Wadee also noted that some workers may have more cash to spare as they have received end of year bonuses; this could mean individuals have more leeway with job hunting.
His comments follow the recent release of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development's Employee Outlook survey that revealed one in four employees in the public sector believe it is likely they will lose their jobs.
