Those looking for offices to rent in London may soon find they are able to go online while they are using the capital's tube network.
As part of plans announced by the mayor of London Boris Johnson to improve the city ahead of the 2012 Olympics, he has proposed installing Wi-Fi hotspots across the underground.
Chris Marling, editor of broadband and smartphone comparison site Broadband Genie, said: "Logistically, rolling out Wi-Fi across London's tube network will be relatively simple. However, financially it will be quite an expensive task."
Firms in London may also be able to look forward to faster internet as it has recently been announced that 87 per cent of homes and small businesses in London will be served by fibre broadband enabled exchanges by spring 2011.
Companies searching for reliable broadband internet may find it beneficial to opt for a serviced office as some larger companies already have access to faster speeds on a private basis.
