There may be an increase in demand for serviced offices in Edinburgh, after new research has shown there may be an increase in those wanting to take up accommodation there.
A study carried out by Jones Lang LaSalle forecast that Edinburgh would be the only region to see a rise in annual office take-up next year.
According to the report, the third quarter of 2010 saw total office occupier activity increase across six key regions outside London, in comparison to the previous two three-month periods.
James Finnis, head of the company's National Offices Team, said the last year-and-a-half has seen tenants - such as those using office space to rent - looking for a base quickly in order to cut costs.
"We anticipate that this type of opportunistic activity will persist in the UK markets and will be the primary driver of occupier demand into the medium term," he added.
Last week, David Cameron announced he had appointed Lord Young to produce a report into the availability of finance to small and medium-sized enterprises in order to promote growth and help similar-sized companies to start up.
