Investing in prepaid cards may be something companies based in offices to rent in Northampton want to consider.
This is following comments made by the managing director of Global Prepaid Exchange Kevin Harrington, who explained that the devices can have a range of business uses.
He described how the plastic can be beneficial for recording expenses and travel costs.
"It's a very efficient way where you can track things easily," Mr Harrington commented.
The expert suggested that many organisations are "getting to grips with the benefits" of using prepaid cards.
Managers can use the information tracked on the top-up cards to compare expense claims, Mr Harrington added.
Many businesses appear to have adopted the practice with sales of such devices reported to have risen 20 per cent year on year.
Global Prepaid Exchange recently claimed that 2011 is set to be the year when prepaid innovations in payment make transactions easier for companies and consumers.
