Small businesses operating out of serviced offices in Cardiff may want to consider adopting one expert's advice.
Senior research analyst at Econsultancy Jake Hird explained how localised search engine optimisation (SEO) can help companies to thrive.
"If I had a small local business I'd definitely be focusing on optimising localised content," he commented.
It was suggested that ensuring organisations are listed on sites such as Google Maps and Google Places could help less-sizeable organisations to market themselves.
Mr Hird said this is particularly important as it is possible the search engine's current Google Instant for mobile phones may become localised in the future.
"I'm not saying it will happen, but that's potentially the way it could go," he concluded.
Small businesses were urged to start considering a move towards this type of marketing by the end of the year.
It seems some companies are already investigating low-cost online advertising methods as a recent report by MerchantCircle revealed Facebook and other social media are becoming increasingly popular.
