Companies operating out of offices to rent in Edinburgh may want to take one expert's advice and outsource human resources (HR) work if internal departments are failing.
Steve Huxham, chairman of the Recruitment Society, explained bosses should seek to find somebody that "can do the job better" if their HR teams are overstretched.
He suggested that planning for large volumes of applications and the screening of prospective staff can help to make things run more smoothly.
"I think the problem is that a lot of HR departments have tried to bring some of this recruiting in-house and it sounds to me as if they're failing," Mr Huxham stated.
Where this is the case, it was recommended that people consider looking for alternative specialist organisations that can carry out this work effectively.
Elsewhere, a recent report by Monster.co.uk revealed accounting and finance fields received a significant rise in recruitment activity last month.
