Bosses in serviced offices in Cardiff may consider taking steps to avoid unwanted costs that could occur in the new year as a result of a financial hangover from the firm's Christmas Party.
The Forum of Private Business (FPB) noted that companies can leave themselves open to disputes from their employees as a result of issues such as health and safety risks or staff rotas.
"Business owners do need to take some important precautions when holding Christmas parties if they want to guard against potential litigation," said FPB chief executive Phil Orford.
By taking measures such as making it clear to employees they are expected to be at work the following day and keeping check on the amount of alcohol that is being consumed, bosses could ensure the night passes off without any problems occurring.
Last week, chief executive of ThinkGrid Rob Lovell observed firms could implement cloud computing into the business in order to negate the effects of workers being unable to make it into the office over the winter due to the weather.
