Small firms, such as those in serviced offices in Cardiff, might benefit from greater access to finance following comments from the Federation of Small Business (FSB).
The organisation urged the government to encourage more competition between banks and find ways to change the credit market for small companies.
Such measures would help emergent businesses access credit for start-up and growth purposes, as well as facilitate the UK's full recovery from the recession, the FSB argued.
John Walker, national chairman of the body, said firms "are still facing an uphill struggle" when it comes to funding.
More competition among banks will extend the costs and services on offer, which will give small companies "access to the type of finance which large businesses are able to tap into", he continued.
Those in serviced offices may also wish to consider the option of a short-term cash injection, which was recently proposed by Chris Baguley - managing director of Bridging Finance - as a means of overcoming reduced bank lending.
