Companies in serviced offices could benefit from having a boss who is able to adapt to change, one expert has suggested.
Professor Arnoud De Meyer, director of Cambridge Judge Business School, said the distinction he makes between leadership and management is the former involves dealing with change while the latter means handling complexity.
"We are living in a world where there is an enormous amount of change today and so there is probably more need for leadership," he continued.
Professor De Meyer commented leadership as a means of trying to control people is not as productive as working with others.
The problems facing managers today can be dealt with more successfully using collaboration, he remarked.
And firms in serviced offices might wish to implement these suggestions in order to improve the efficiency of their organisations.
It was recently suggested by Tina Lamb, senior partner at business skills training company the Impact Factory, that internally-promoted bosses often lack management abilities.
