Writing for HR Magazine, chief executive officer of Maya Asset Management Victoria Brannen provided a list of pointers for organisations hoping to stay ahead in 2011.
She suggested that it is important to be flexible and keep up with "rapid-moving economic climates" by welcoming new situations.
"Make sure you are structured to change direction as instantly as the current environment demands," companies were urged.
Investing in the latest technology and using marketing solutions to stay on top of business objectives and competition were also recommended.
Another area to focus on is financial analysis, according to Ms Brannen, who explained how having the right tools can help existing performances as well as enhancing future ones.
