Research has revealed that 48 per cent of employees are regularly unhappy at work, feelings that may be shared by staff at serviced offices in Northampton.
Training provider Lifetime asked 3,000 people how they feel about their job and discovered that only six per cent are completely happy.
It also found that one in five feel depressed daily when at the office, with two thirds claiming their work gives them little or no satisfaction.
Director of Training at Lifetime Nigel Wallace said: "We spend the majority of our adult lives in the workplace so it is crucial for our state of mind, health and wellbeing that we associate positive emotion with our job."
Despite the apparent unhappiness, 70 per cent of people said they would be hesitant to make a career change in the current economic climate.
Lifetime provides training and industry qualifications across the hospitality, fitness and health sectors.
