Workers in serviced offices in Cardiff could be some of the employees that habitually fail to consume food due to time constraints.
The Aviva Health of the Workplace report found stress is harming the eating habits of Britons, as 30 per cent of those surveyed claimed they skip their lunch break.
However, 43 per cent of respondents to the annual survey said their management encourages them to leave the office during this period in order to promote their wellbeing.
A total of 13 per cent of staff members do not eat at all during a working day, with 25 per cent only doing so if time constraints allow it.
Recently, a study by cheese producer President found 37 per cent of British workers usually spend under ten minutes eating their lunch.
Dr Doug Wright, head of clinical development for Aviva UK Health, said: "A cultural shift in the workplace towards proper lunch breaks will improve overall employee wellbeing as well as productivity."
